This Is Adult, Not

Actually it’s about as childish as it gets.

I didn’t get my way so everybody should smash everything.  I’ve seen three year olds in Wal Mart that behaved better.  Unfortunately this is typical of the CHORFS and the antipuppies.  What they don’t seem to understand is that  people really don’t like crybabies.  Especially when they are supposedly adults.

This whole “No Award” campaign is just like pooping all over the Worldcon and then expecting the puppies to clean up the mess next year.  It doesn’t seem like the puppies are threatening to ruin the awards ceremony.  It’s not the puppies going around and putting fake reviews on authors books.  It’s not the puppies sitting a corner and crying.

But then most of us puppies are used to not necessarily getting what we want all the time.  I’m guessing that the puppies, by and large have had real jobs where yes, we had to make compromises and do without things from time to time.  We’ve learned that no matter how good you are, you don’t always win.  And that screaming about it gains you no friends.  Yet right off the bat, that’s exactly what the CHORFs have done.

Looking at the ballot is it true that all those stories and articles are unworthy.  Just a quick glance at the artist nominations and they are phenominal.  I’ve already read Tedd Roberts science article and it’s a good take on the why science is never settled.  I’ve been reading Uncle Timmy’s “Hump Day” for about a year now and it’s always filled with good stuff.  IN going to assume the stuff I haven’t looked at is as good.  As for the movies and TV shows, I’ve only seen “guardians” in full, but I’ve heard enough good things about all of them to think that they are worthy.

But according to the crybaby CHORFs, the mere fact that they were nominated by the puppies is enough to smash the table rather than actually looking at something and seeing if they like it.  I’ve never seen a bigger bunch of scaredy cats waiting for Mikey.  The problem is that the puppies are Mikey and we know what we like.

You know, in real life you have to make compromises.  At work you have coworkers and a boss you have to deal with.  At home there are family issues.  Nobody gets what they want all the time.  That’s part of adulthood.  It seems though, as if science fiction fandom means not having to act like grownups.  It means that you can get out your diapers and walk down the halls of Worldcon  dripping pee all over the carpets while the stench of your crap wafts down the halls.  It’s all so pathetic, really.

Of course I wonder if the CHORFS realize what will happen if “No Award” actually DOES sweep the Hugos this year.  If the history is correct the last time “No Award” won a category twice because of a childish fit, the category went away.  Considering the numbers of Puppies, the additional people like myself who hadn’t sent on memberships before the nomination date, but have joined later and any other people who might buy memberships, there’s a pretty good chance that there will be even more puppies next year and we WILL be motivated.  Are the CHORFs willing to repeat their nuclear option and this time destroy the very thing they say they love.  Based on what I’ve seen so far, they probably will, killing the Hugos and more than likely  Worldcon as well. Which is pure childishness.

Update: Cry- bullies defines the CHORFs perfectly.

They are exactly like that spoiled five year old in the Wal Mart aisle manipulating their poor suffering mother who’s stressed out and eventually gives in.

If the Awards are tanked, it won’t be the fault of puppies. Of course the CHORFs will blame puppies because taking responsibility for one’s own actions is not their strong suit.
