    There’s a set of well used tracks 30ft from my office door. While eating lunch the other day I noticed that one of the ubiquitous square cars had a capacity rating of 200,000 lbs…!
    The interesting thing is that some cars are super loud, while others pass by without a noticeable sound. I’m not sure if they are louder when loaded or empty or if it’s dependent on something else.

    The other funny thing is that in the US freight cars have priority over passenger cars! Too bad, if the reverse were true then traveling long distance by train might actually be worth doing.
