As one of the largest cities in the world Tokyo is dependent on it’s transportation. While there are frequent stories about the Tokyo subways, very little is said about the real tie that binds the wards of Tokyo together, JREast’s Yamanote Line. The Yamanote line loops in a more or less oval shape surrounding the Imperial Palace and allows the commuter lines to connect without causing rail line congestion in the center of the city. The Yamanote Line is the tie that binds Tokyo.
