The Tricks Behind Those Old Japanese Monster Movies

Remember the Kaiju movies? There was the giant monster, attacking Tokyo, again. Yet somehow, Tokyo always seemed to be back for the next movie. That was because Tokyo was miniature Tokyo. There’s a feeling with miniature effects that you can’t get with CGI. CGI loses some of the depth and texture that a miniature can provide. Anyway, here’s some videos on how they did it:

It’s a shame how the models decayed. It’s wonderful that somebody has dedicated themselves to restoring them.
